House Rules - Main BnB
Check-in time is 4pm, check-out time is 12-noon. Quiet time is 10pm to 7am. This means keeping your TV noise down, using headphones (you should be able to connect to your TV using wireless Bluetooth headphones if you have the Roku app on your smartphone), being quiet in the kitchen, no laundry, etc. This is a shared space so please be courteous!
Clean up after yourself! We provide a fully functional and equipped kitchen and laundry area for your use. Please be courteous to the other guests (and us) by cleaning your messes. Rinse your dishes, put them in the dishwasher, and start the dishwasher if it’s full. Please do not waste resources by running a dishwasher that is not reasonably filled. If it’s ready to be emptied, feel free to put dishes away, or leave your dirty ones neatly in the sink, rinsed and ready to put in the dishwasher.
This residence is party-free and smoke-free (this includes marijuana even though it is legal in the state). No alcohol consumption is permitted in the residence, and disruptive behavior due to drinking will lead to immediate removal from the property. Indoor smoking violations incur a $250 cleaning fee. Smoking can be done off the property on the sidewalks, and there is a butt can outside for your convenience - absolutely no cigarette butts are allowed in the trash can. No candles or any other burning objects are allowed.
Bringing in guests outside of your party is not permitted without prior approval, and will lead to immediate cancellation of your reservation and your removal from the property. WE HAVE RING SECURITY CAMERAS THAT MONITOR THE FRONT AND BACK YARDS. THESE RECORD VIDEO AND SOUND.
We are in rural Alaska and issues can happen out of our control - the Internet may go down, the heat may stop working, electricity may go out, etc. We cannot be held liable for these kinds of events, but please let us know as soon as possible should you run into any issues. Contact numbers will be posted on the fridge and in the guestbook.
Please do not wear shoes inside the residence. There is an area near the front entrance under the coat hooks where you can safely leave them.
Any eating or drinking in the room that causes damage will be your responsibility to pay for and the costs will be taken from your deposit. We require all eating and drinking to be done in the dining/kitchen areas. Do not use/eat BnB foods that we have stored in the drawers and cabinets. Label personal items with last name and date and store them in your room’s designated spots.
Avoid doing anything intentional that may cause damage or stains. That means do not do anything that'll put holes in the walls, using tape or anything sticky on the walls or floors, moving the bed or furniture, activities such as dying hair, or trying to use any cleaning equipment. If you have cleaning needs, please let us know.
We may enter your room during your stay for the following: 1) maintenance that needs to be performed (we will give you advanced notice if possible), 2) your door code has not been used for 24 hours and we want to check on you, 3) housekeeping needs.
We recommend that all travelers purchase trip insurance, or check with your credit card company to see if they offer it if you need to cancel for any reason as all prepayments on our rooms are non-refundable.
Disregarding any of these rules will lead to additional fees and/or being asked to leave immediately with no refunds per our rental policy. We are happy to share our home with you, so let’s work together to keep it clean and welcoming! Updated 7/13/22
